We offer a basic, plain, Guernsey Island gansey pattern free with your first order.  This is written to be knitted both 'in the round' or on two needles, whichever you feel more comfortable with.

We are also very pleased to offer patterns by talented designers, all working with 5-ply wool in both traditional and modern styles.

Liz Lovick, a great designer who lives in the Orkney Islands has written many patterns for 5-ply Guernsey Wool, both traditional and a little different, and has kindly allowed us to print them for sale to our customers.  We have a range of Liz Lovick's Traditional Scottish Gansey patterns along with hats, mittens, scarf and socks all at £3.50 + p&p each.  See Liz's website www.northernlace.co.uk to find photographs of her designs and you can also download patterns straight to your computer if you prefer.  We also have Liz's 'Knitting Ganseys' workshop CD-rom which tells you everything you could ever want to know about knitting a gansey, social history and designing your own.  See Liz's page.

We are proud to be able to offer a range of Beth Brown-Reinsel's beautiful patterns for 5-ply knitting in stock - email us for a list of patterns and prices. Have a look at Beth's site at www.knittingtraditions.com to see her range of beautiful work and you can download her patterns from her website if you prefer.  See Beth's page.

A very talented British designer Caroline Bawn, has some more unusual, modern patterns knitted in Guernsey Wool.  These are photographed on her separate page and are all available from us at £3.50 each plus p&p.

June Onigbanjo has designed a beautiful Guernsey Jacket and has kindly agreed to let me have copies of her pattern to sell to my customers.  Many people ask about jackets and cardigans and here is a classic, smart but warm garment that will go to any occasion - £3.50.

A machine knitting pattern especially written for Frangipani by top UK designer Rose King is available for Men, Women and Children, price £3.50.

For those who wish to machine knit a Guernsey ‘type’ drop sleeve sweater with a cut and sew neck there is a free ‘Rough Guide’ available. This 5-ply wool is the maximum thickness that can be knitted on a standard gauge machine and therefore spraying the wool cone at intervals with a silicon spray is highly recommended for smooth running. It is absolutely ideal for knitting with a Brother machine with a Garter Carriage.

If you are someone who likes to "cut and sew" your necks, we have secured a stock of Carl Boyd's famous neck template to take the worry out of marking your work. This template is so easy to use, just lay the template on your knitting and mark around the smooth, sturdy edge with dressmakers chalk and you have a perfect pattern to cut out. The template has instructions for different widths and depths of round necklines and instructions are also included for "vee" necks. Made from sturdy plastic this template will last you a lifetime and is an absolute must for all your cut and sew necklines, price £4.99.
